DataServ now includes an in-app Notification Center, accessible via a new bell icon in the navigation bar. When important events occur, such as being assigned as a delegate for a colleague’s Out of Office, you'll receive a notification with the relevant details so you can stay informed without relying solely on email. Unread notifications are indicated by a badge count, and notifications are listed by recency so you can quickly catch up on what needs attention. We will be adding more notifications in the coming releases.
To access the 'Notifications' click the bell icon in the upper right-hand corner of the Dashboard.
A red dot will appear when a user has a new notification. If there are more than one notification it will show the number of notifications.
A listing of notifications will appear.
Out of Office
The Notification icon alerts Out of Office delegate users that they have been selected as a delegate for an approver who has enabled their Out of Office setting. While this setting is active, documents that would normally route to the approver are temporarily redirected to the delegate for approval.
The Delegate will receive a notification immediately letting them know they have been selected to receive documents for the Out of Office user. A red dot will appear on the notification icon to indicate a new alert. If there are multiple notifications, a red number will display, showing the total number of new alerts.
During the time period the user is OOO, the delegate will have a pinned notification stating they are currently receiving the OOO’s documents. These notifications will clear automatically once the end date passes or the OOO feature for user is manually turned off.

Tagging
Users can tag or mention other users within a document discussion to draw attention to a specific comment or request action. When a user is tagged, they receive both an email notification and an in-app notification in the notification bell.
When User A tags User B on a document:
- User B receives an in-app notification in the notification bell.
- An email notification is also sent, consistent with existing tagging behavior.
- If User A also tags themselves, they will receive an in-app notification and email notification.
Tag notifications follow document security permissions.
- If the tagged user has access to the document, the notification opens the document and discussion thread.
- If the tagged user does not have access, notification behavior follows the configured system rule for restricted-access document.
