The DIN, or Document Imaging Number, is a unique identifier that DataServ assigns to each image/document. This number, in the format mmddyy and a four-digit sequence number, is significant as it allows for easy document referencing.
The mmddyy is the date that the document was imported into DataServ, and the sequence number is reset each day, starting at "0001".
The DIN number is a unique identifier that is helpful when opening a Support ticket because it enables the Support team to quickly identify the exact document being referenced. Providing only a vendor number or invoice number can refer to several documents, whereas using a DIN will direct Support to the single document in question.
The DIN can be found on the Search Screen if you use a search with that column listed.
The DIN is also listed within the Index data contained on each document in the Document Viewer.
If the DIN is not a column on your current search screen, you can easily locate it by selecting 'More Fields' and finding it in the alphabetical listing. This empowers you to access the information you need.
This number is set automatically by DataServ and is not an editable field.
