Overview
For invoices that use a single purchase order (PO), you can now update the PO number at the invoice header level and have that change automatically cascade to all invoice lines in the Document Viewer without needing to open the AutoVouch Exception Form.
This PO Cascade capability:
Eliminates repetitive, line-by-line PO edits
Helps keep header and line-level data in sync
Maintains a clear audit trail of who made the change and when
When This Feature Applies
PO Cascade is designed for invoices where one PO applies to the entire invoice. Typical use cases include:
The wrong PO was entered initially (for example, PO-123457 should have been PO-012345).
Your organization needs to correct or replace a PO for all lines on a single-PO invoice.
If an invoice is intentionally associated with multiple different POs at the line level, you should continue to manage those POs directly on the line items by opening the AutoVouch Exception Form.
How to Use PO Cascade
Open the invoice in the Document Viewer.
In the Details Pane, locate the Purchase Order (PO) Number field.
Edit the PO number to the correct value (for example, change PO-123457 to PO-012345).
Save or apply your changes as you normally would.
Once saved:
The updated PO number is applied to all invoice line items on the AV Exception for that were using the original PO number.
The change is recorded in the system’s audit history and details, including who made the update and when.
Notes and Considerations
PO Cascade is intended for single‑PO invoices. If your invoice has multiple different POs at the line level by design, review each line and make changes via the AutoVouch Exception Form.
If you are unable to edit the PO number in the Document Viewer and believe you should be able to, please contact your internal administrator or DataServ Support.
Access and Enablement
If you are interested in using the new PO Cascade feature, please reach out to your Client Success Account Manager (CSAM) or contact DataServ Support. Availability may depend on your organization’s configuration and permissions.
