DataServ experienced a brief outage this morning when user logins and application pages were impacted by two distinct, overlapping issues.
At approximately 8:00am CST our authentication server experienced an issue that prevented clients from logging into the system. That issue was resolved at approximately 8:30am CST.
At approximately 8:15am CST one server in our back-end client database cluster experienced an issue that prevented it from handing over management of the cluster to another member. This caused issues accessing client data and displaying tiles in the application.
To address these issues, DataServ is:
Increasing the frequency and level of monitoring of the affected servers to more quickly identify any issues.
Developing new monitors to specifically recognize the symptoms and behaviors that preceded today’s issues.
Retiring the affected database cluster member server to improve reliability and stability of the system.
